About Me

I am a 5th/6th grade gifted STEM teacher.  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math have always been a passion of mine and now I get to share that passion with my students in ways that I could only have dreamed of.  From forensic science to biomedical engineering to robotics and computer programming, I take the skills my students learn in their regular education classes and guide the students to applying these to real-world problems.

STEM is not just four independent subjects, it is a way of thinking.  Students need to know how to collaborate, problem-solve, and ask questions no matter the occupation they choose.  Google can teach students the facts, but only a teacher can teach students how to use those facts to be successful. 

When I am not teaching, I enjoy camping with my husband and daughter.  I am also a self-proclaimed reality TV junkie - my dream is to be on The Amazing Race!
